Neil Tyson and Bill Nye do their best Jules and Vincent impressions. And they mean business with those chemical reactions, yo.
The concept came to me at random one night at work, and it struck as just the sort of cleverly stupid or stupidly clever idea I just had to explore; obviously the title is oxymoronic given Tyson and Nye's professions, but the gag was too good to pass up. I went for a rougher style befitting of the sort of pulp comics inspiring the look of the cover, while I looked to the work of Jack Kirby while assembling the background. The aging effects came out quite well, and I think that's what really sells the cover's overall effect.
